The camera battery can be charged outside the camera but you will need to buy a charger on Amazon or eBay that is made for the LB-012 battery which comes with camera in box. If you charge battery in camera, you have a micro to USB cable to hook into the side of camera to charge battery. It will have an orange light on until it is fully charged and then it will turn off letting you know it’s ready!
