• This device can do both! color film or negatives! A very user friendly scanner. Provides excellent quality of images. I give it a 5 star rating!

• You need a special unit to scan moving pictures. Go to a professional camera store that processes film and can transfer to other types of media (VHS and DVD).

• I have been scanning color 35mm slides. I don't have a direct answer, but it has a number of internal settings and plastic adapters for different media. It can go from negatives or slides. It has settings for color or black and white. It lists 135, 110 and 126 KPK (whatever that is). The device was a lot smaller than I expected, but does a great job on slides! Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
