I've been using them for a few weeks and I notice that my eyesight rests more when I'm in front of the computer since I spend many hours a day in front of it, so I can say that they help even if you don't play.

However, I do own polarized yellow glasses (use them for driving at night on occasion) and blue light filtering monitors. My educated guess would be that these glasses would be good for checking your laptop and phone. Depending on the age and maybe quality of your phone, it probably already has a bluelight filter built in. (You may do a search on your model.) I will say though, with my experience with my polarized yellow glasses, they will make everything a lot brighter. I have enjoyed turning a gloomy day out driving into a 'sunny day' with mine. But if you're in a decently lit room, I'd be careful if you are sensitive to bright lights. Keep in mind, gamers tend to be in darker rooms with little lighting on.
