5400 RPM
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If it's not specified then expect 5400 RPM. Lacie has been cagey about revealing drive speeds. And even when I have bought drives listed as 7200 RPM I looked up the maker and model listed in Either Apple System profile.drive utility or something else and found they had put a 5400 in instead of 7200. had to fight with them to get replacements spent with the specified speed. Only the 2 TB version lists drive speed as 7200 RPM so if that one isn't then you can fight. If you buy these and its not listed on the box then you have no recourse. I checked the Lacie website and I cannot find where they are specifying drive speed at all even in the downloadable user manuals and PDFs. The only thing listed is transfer speed. The 5400 has 130 MB transfer. The others don't here. On Lacies site there is a rugged spec sheet which lists all these drives as 130 MBs transfer. No guarantee its 7200 RPM though. I'll be looking elsewhere for a drive that states it or buy case and drive from OWC or somewhere.
