• A:Answer It runs on a uv sterilizer which steralizes microbials such as bacteria making the water less risky. It would do nothing to heavy metals or chemicals present in water. I cannot speak on the effectiveness of the sterilizer as different microbial pests need different times of exposure to uv for it to be effective.
