I have not had any problems with speed using MS office or the internet to stream videos, etc. with it.

It is made for someone who does not spend a lot of time on the computer and does not do intensive work when they are on the computer. The Celeron processor is a light use processor. The 4GB of RAM is good, when partnered with the Celeron processor it is good for the light user. If the processor and RAM are over worked, the system will hang up and/or freeze. A college student would not be considered a light user of a computer.
