Since this is a chromebook, most software is not downloadable as it is not compatible with ChromeOs. Microsoft products including word are not downloadable. You can use the web version of word and excel but there are some things on the traditional version that aren't available on the web version. To know what products are usable, google what is downloadable on a chromebook.

This Flex 5i Chromebook Plus, like other Chromebooks, uses G-Suite for office type programs like Docs for word processing, Slides for presentations, Sheets for spreadsheets, and more. Most G-Suite apps are preinstalled on Chromebooks and are compatible with Microsoft Office programs. If you currently have a Microsoft Office 365 Account, you can access that existing account and use the available apps through with your Chromebook.
