“Best Buy has an identical version on this machine at the same price but with a Intel Pentium processor. I've never owned an AMD, any thoughts?”

• AMD performs about the same as Intel (sometimes better, sometimes worse), but is cheaper and smaller than Intel. Personally, as an AMD shareholder, I recommend AMD over Intel, but even the base models perform better than Intel. Also AMD's graphics are significantly better than Intel.
