You would have to have Geek Squad determine that or consult Lenovo. There are tests that can be performed to determine if your battery is faulty. If your brightness is turned all the way up and the performance profile is set for optimal settings and you actively use the machine constantly ...it will use more power. You would also find out how they got the data of 9 hours. I am guessing that with the windows power save modes on you could possibly get 9 hours.
