“I have tried both a USB-C to USB-C data cable and an HDMI to mini HDMI cable to use my portable external monitor. Neither works. C to C powers on but won't run and HDMI to HDMI does nothing. Any other suggestions? Thank you”

• Hey Robine13, if your monitor features a separate USB port that can receive power from the IdeaPad, along with a video connection, it should work. If not, unfortunately, since this IdeaPad does not feature a USB-C port that supports power delivery and DP Alt Mode, this system may not be compatible with your portable monitor.

• Check the cables with another computer-monitor combination that you know works. Not all cables are alike. Also, the HDMI cable might be damaged somewhere.
