Hi, boymom7911. The SSD is also upgradable, but the system features one M.2 2280 SSD slot that is occupied by the existing 512GB SSD, so you'd have to swap it out for the larger capacity drive.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Both RAM and drive are upgradeable. One person commented that " If your [sic] going to upgrade the RAM and storage...it'd be less expensive to buy a computer with those upgrades standard." One can argue the merits of such an idea, but one point is certain, and that is that not everyone has the funds to purchase a more expensive computer right off. Some HAVE to build up slowly, even if it is more expensive. Actually, I would disagree with this idea, since manufacturers often tend to charge a premium for preinstalling some better parts, such as higher RAM concentrations, over what an individual might be able to pay, especially if the individual waits for sales. Also, this same comment noted that "it would be highly unusual to have RAM soldiered AND an additional slot." That is absolutely true. But it doesn't mean that it NEVER occurs, and there is no reason not to take advantage of that happenstance when it does occur.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If your going to upgrade the RAM and storage honestly it'd be less expensive to buy a computer with those upgrades standard. Besides, despite the Lenovo rep saying the RAM has an additional slot that would be highly unusual to have RAM soldiered AND an additional slot. Not to mention opening the computer voids the warranty.
