  • QuestionDoes this laptop come with a DVD drive? I am looking for a good laptop with a DVD drive.

    • Answer That's a difficult aim, as optical drives have laregly been phased out and replaced by pen drives. You probably have to settle for an external one, Another possibility would be to find an older laptop in good shape. I have an older Acer that I opened up to replace the battery and found it had space for an optical drive, so I added one. It was easy and cheap ($20).

This Lenovo IdeaPad 3 15 Laptop, model number 81X800KLUS, ships with an HD (720p) webcam with Privacy Shutter and Dual Array Microphones built in. The IdeaPad 3 15 ships with Windows 11 S-Mode 64-bit Operating System installed. Windows 11 S-Mode provides added security by only allowing APPs available ( and therefore certified by Microsoft) at the Microsoft Store. If you don't need the added security or you need to install APPs not available at the Microsoft Store, you can switch to standard Windows 11 Home 64-bit Operating System, at no additional cost.     • Answer I have used this laptop with Zoom, but there was a deep hidden setting locking the camera off, not part of the regular camera or privacy controls. I had to use audio only. It took me about an hour or more of serious poking around to unlock the camera, and sorry, I don't remember where I found the unlock. But I'm finally ready for the next time.
