I think "MicheleM's" understanding of the question is backwards: "powercord" wants to use his older, barrel-type power adapters with a USB-C port, which means the you need a female barrel-type connector to a male USB-C connector. They do make these, but to make matters more bothersome, the female barrel connector has to be the right size and polarities, and I've seen packages with 34 different variations. There are adapters for different sized barrel connectors as well, but it would be preferable to have as few connectors as possible, to avoid propagating points of error. To start with, search "DC barrel female to Type C adapter," and that should give you a number of possibilities.
