Hey Rob, When the specifications list M.2 slots specifically in terms of storage slots, this refers to the types of storage that system will support and how many drives. In this case, the IdeaPad Slim 3x features two M.2 2242 PCIe 4.0 x4 slots, meaning that if one of slots is preoccupied by the included 256GB drive, there is an open storage slot for storage expansion. Also, many modern systems that have SSDs will feature M.2 storage slots, as this form of storage is more compact, efficient, and performant than traditional SSDs. When a company specifically states it has a certain number of these, they are talking about slots used for storage. However, the second is usually a smaller form factor, especially in slimmer models.
