“Is there supposed to be a bright spot underneath the "0" key on the numpad? It's kindof distracting because of the glare.”

This may be the keyboard backlighting. Try turning off the keyboard backlighting or reducing the backlight intensity. To adjust the keyboard backlight, hold down the Fn Key and at the same time tap the spacebar - Once to turn on the backlighting, twice to increase the intensity of the backlighting and three times to turn off the keyboard back lighting.
