That depends on what you are trying to hook up. HDMI transfers video and audio, so if you are hooking up a monitor that has speakers with the HDMI from the PC then you will get sound through your monitors speakers. Other options for sound include external speakers which would plug into the audio jack on the back of the PC. You can also use a gaming headset or headphones plugged into a free USB port or the audio jack on the PC.
