This monitor should be compatible to computer related devices and/or lack thereof. Just make sure you have a mini display port to hdmi cable to run from your surface pro to the monitor, and a power outlet (the wall plug), as this monitor needs power to work. Just keep in mind this monitor is not ideal to be portable.
