No could not get it to connect. Even when I down loaded the Google app.

You can only view and delete alarms that have already been set. You can access a function called "Family Bells" that allows you to set alarm like notifications from your Smart Phone or Tablet Remotely. The "Bell" will make a ringing noise when active and read the title of the notification aloud on the Smart Clock Essential.
