You are probably referring to an Amazon Fire tablet, on which the Silk browser is locked. For a full Android experience on the Fire tablet including Chrome, you may need to manually sideload apps, bu that is an advanced process. This tablet, like all non-Fire branded ones, can run a number of browsers, including Chrome, Firefox, Brave, Opera, etc.
