• No this model does not have a backlit keyboard. You will need to move up in size to at least 14" screen size or 15.6". It will still be select models that will have backlit keyboards, so check the specific model.

• No, the keys remain dark. It may be inconvenient, but saves a bit of battery. I have no suggestions for an alternative within this price range.
