• The hinge has been tested for 25,000 360-degree open/close evolutions (approximately 8-years of normal use) without loosing its holding ability at any point along the 360-degree cycle.

• The hinge does not lock into place. I have has the same question if this would last for the life of the computer, it has held up so far and I've been using this everyday for the past month. it did seem to have a slight break in period, went from being extremely stiff to now being very tight and secure but a bit smother when switching back and forth from netbook to tablet.
