“Directions say keep the units 15 inches from nearest wall. I bought one and planned on placing it in a hallway along a wall. One side of the 600s will be about 3 inches from a wall. How much will this affect its performance?”

When using the air purifier, please allow at least 15 inches / 38 cm of clearance on all sides. Keep away from anything that would block airflow, such as curtains, to promote proper airflow.

Please try again later.It affect the longevity of the filter and reduce the chance of air to get to that face basically you cut off 1/4 surface areas that allow smell to contact carbon filter or chance for particle to go to that side. It still work if that the only place you can put the air cleaner.
