We understand your inquiry about the child lock and safety features. This model offers flexibility to ensure it fits your household's needs perfectly. Based on the Owner's manual page 11, for the control panel lock, you can toggle it off and on by pressing and holding the STOP/Clear button for approximately three seconds until "Loc" appears or disappears from the display. Additionally, this unit features a 2-step Safety Lock on the door itself. If you prefer a 1-step operation, you can disable this mechanical lock by using a Phillips screwdriver to press and rotate the lock button on the side of the control panel to the "Unlock" position.
