  • QuestionHas anyone had this model trip circuit breakers, and on what amperage circuit? We seem to have a "touchy" circuit where we want to put our microwave. Supposed to be 20-amp, but trips whenever we try to use our 1200 W, 12 amp microwave.

NeoChef™ Countertop Microwave with Smart Inverter, Model # MSER0990S, must be plugged into a dedicated circuit rated at 120 VAC, 60 Hz, and protected by a 15-amp Time Delay fuse or a 15-amp circuit breaker. The key word here is "dedicated". While one circuit can power several small devices or appliances (like a lamp, a TV, and a phone), dedicated circuits are reserved for one singular appliance. This means that nothing else in your home other than the microwave can draw energy from that circuit. Circuit breakers are designed to trip when too much electricity flows through them. If you are experiencing regular circuit trips for specific smaller appliances, it might be worth having a dedicated circuit for them. When the circuit that serves the microwave trips, pay attention to what other devices are affected.
