Is it supposed to be this noisy? Just received & plugged in my new microwave. I like most of it, now that I see it. BUT, is it supposed to be this noisy when running? Has a *very pronounced vibration sound, way worse than the 12 year old Sharp it's replacing. Tried holding down the metal top and side, no difference. Have I got a lemon?

Same here, if I hold my hand firmly on the side it helps. It's just a cheaply made product, in my opinion.

It is normal for the unit to make clicking sounds which are caused by a mechanical switch turning the microwave oven’s magnetron ON and OFF.
The heavy hum and clunk is from the change in power the magnetron draws as it is turned ON and OFF by a mechanical switch, but without actually hearing the noise you're referring to, it cannot be determined what might be the cause. If you believe that you have a lemon, you may want to follow the store's return policy if you're still within the return policy. That sounds odd. We hear the fan going but not a vibrating sound when ours is running. Maybe something is loose inside of yours.

Yes. I placed some soft rubber scraps beneath the feet and that helps reduce the vibration noise a little.

We had same shock at noise when I first set up. I brought it back and am waiting for another to arrive to see if it is the whole series or just the individual oven. Hope your and my experience are not typical

We didn't find this microwave noisy at all - in fact much quieter than the Whirlpool we had previously. There is some vibration but I think that's a quality of the operation of the microwave as well as the surface that it's sitting on.

Mine is the same way. I didn't take it back cause it was a floor model and I got it really cheap, but I noticed the "pronounced vibration" immediately.
