• I assume it means the interior light. A light that is on when the microwave is heating food. Also, a light that is turned on when the door is opened. Some models don't have a light that turns on when the door is opened.

• The light is on during cooking so you can see your item through the door. Some models have it, others don't. The LG model that I purchased (Model: LCRT1513ST) does have this feature, and I love having it!

• I would think it is a light inside the unit that stays on while it is cooking. Some models only come on when you open the door.
