• Set the time and start. 60 and 100 both give you 1 minute

• You will need to hit cook time to set the cooking time, then hit START to start the cooking process.

• There is a convenient button for 30 second increments that I've tended to rely on. You press it and it starts automatically, adding time for each press.

• Yes, either of those will give you 60 seconds of cook time. I used to design programs for microwave ovens a long time ago, and that operation was by design. For example, 9-0-START gives you 90 seconds.
