Yes - has 2 speeds high and low, and vents out of the top (in front of the cabinet. It can also be set up to vent through a duct outside of desored.

Vent out the top (to be connected to ducting leading to the outside). c. Vent out the back (to be connected to ducting leading to the outside). There is no hood to speak of, just the underside of the microwave with a couple of mesh SS grease filters.

If you want to vent outside through the cabinet above the microwave, there is an attachment you get that can make the microwave vent up into the cabinet and attach to the external vent. The in room vent is above the door 14 inches from the back wall. So you're cabinets need to be 14 inches or less.
