Yes, this microwave can be installed over a cook-top and under cabinets. A minimum of 30" is required between the range or counter-top surface and the bottom of the upper kitchen cabinet that you will be installing this LG 2.0 cu. ft. Over the Range Microwave Oven in Black Stainless Steel with Sensor Cooking Technology, Model # LMVM2033BD before you install it. That required space is also expressed as a minimum of between 13 to 16" from the bottom of the microwave after it is installed. For this unit, that will actually be a minimum of 13 1/8". ^CP
