• Hello, on the SK5Y, the subwoofer is a wireless connection with the exception of the power cord. Install instructions can be found in the link provided. ^AC http://www.lg.com/us/support-product/lg-SK5Y

• The sub is wireless. Hook up the soundbar to the television, plug in the sub, and it should locate itself. If not, there is a connect button that can help. You do have to plug in your sub to the wall for power.
