“I have an older Samsung smart tv with hdmi and usb outputs but no optical audio output. Is there any way to connect this soundbar? I have seen other answers suggest that this will work with an hdmi cord but there is no hdmi input on the sound bar.”

If your older Samsung Smart TV does not have any audio outputs or an Optical Digital Audio Out, then the only way you can connect it to the LG SL4Y 2.1 Channel 300W Sound Bar w/ Bluetooth Streaming is if it supports Bluetooth so you can pair it with the Soundbar to stream audio wirelessly via Bluetooth. If your older TV has the older Analog RCA Stereo Audio Output barrel ports (i.e. Red/White) ports, regrettably, there is no way to connect to the Soundbar...^IFV
