• We have to use the remote that came with it when we use it with our cable or blu ray player.

• I have ATT Uverse and Samsung TV. Have to turn on the bar with the included remote but can use my ATT remote to adjust volume once Uverse box and TV are powered on. The bar is connected to my ATT box's digital audio (optical) output port.

• The trick to make the LG SoundBar volume work is related to what TV is your cable box set to control the volume, ie, If your Dish Network universal remote is set to control for example an LG, Samsung or some other major TV brand, then the SoundBar volume will be controlled by your Dish Network remote.
