“I was told by the installers that in addition to the ice maker on the door, ice would also be made automatically in the freezer until the ice bucket/tray is full. It has been over 24 hours and no ice has been produced in the freezer.”

The tray in the freezer is for storage only, only dumps ice in the door compartment.
