The LG 720P LED TV, Model # 24LF452B has three built-in tuners, an ATSC tuner, an NTSC-M tuner and a 64 & 256 QAM tuner. The built-in QAM tuner is for use with subscribed television services to a cable company. You can receive High Definition cable programming with or without the set top box, but you will need the set top box from a cable company for encrypted programming. The FCC mandates that TVs sold in the US must include an ATSC tuner. TVs with a built-in ATSC tuner do not require a digital converter box and are capable of receiving and displaying High Definition programming and can also receive Over-the-Air (OTA) ATSC broadcasts when connected to an antenna. The NTSC-M tuner is for analog broadcasts and requires a digital-to-analog converter box. It has been replaced by the ATSC tuner, but is still used for lower-power stations and Class A stations...^IFV
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The set will pickup local channels with an antenna. Location and size will help getting a good signal. Used an small inexpensive indoor antenna and some channels pixilated. Got better play when attached to a higher(Attic) larger antenna and had no problems.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. We connected this television to an over the air antenna and it works fine (as long as the antenna is positioned well).
