• I'm not sure if it will work with a MacBook but it works well with a pc. I don't know anything about Mac Books. It uses a HDMI input for pc.

• We bought this specifically to use as such. Right now we are using it as a monitor for our mac mini and it's working beautifully. You will need to use one of your hdmi ports or get a dongle, though if you're using a macbook air. I have a macbook pro and the hdmi works fine with it as does the mac mini.
