• No, the TV will not need a converter box. There are built in turners for digital and analog, ATSC and NTSC. ^Daphane

• To watch shows on this tv you will need 1 of the following, a cable/satellite box, WiFi (this is a smart tv with built in streaming) smart cast your phone (cast your phone screen to the tv) or old school DVD player.
