“I had a 2012 LG 24MA31D that we really liked until lightning hit it. I want to replace with another LG. The one I had allowed the display to be turned off (darkened) with the audio active while in sleep mode. Does this one have that feature?”

Yes the remote has sleep mode and other options for you to use and take full advantage of experiment with every function.
