• The light times out and turns off. There is also a "night dry" function which circulates fresh air after cycle completion so you don’t have to open the door if you don’t want to. Dishes and even plastics come out dry and fresh.

• Yes, the light will time out after a bit. We sometimes leave ours open to air dry overnight.
