Hi yes you can do that what I did when the fridge was delivered I left it unplugged for 4 hours in that time I hooked up the water line but I didn’t open the water valve from the line after 4 hours I plugged on the fridge and opened the water line it was fine I had ice in about 1 hour that’s the type of valve I used you can turn it on and off without affecting the sink faucet
