“How often does the water filter need to be changed ? we have not used this fridges water dispenser since we moved in approx 3 months ago please let me know and there was no manual left by the previous owners can you e mail me one?”

An owner's manual for refrigerator LFXS26596S can be downloaded from the product support page at https://www.lg.com/us/support/product/lg-LFXS26596S.ASTCNA1. It is recommended the water filter be replaced every 6 months, when the Replace Filter icon turns on and/or the water dispenser output decreases. The correct water filter replacement cartridge is LT1000P. ^Daphane

There should be a place that lights up on the door where it says filters that should tell you it going to be needed changed and to order your new filter. As for the manual you should be able to go to lg website and under support find the manual you need to download as long as you have the model number. Hope this helps
