Hi Mike. A manufacturer will discontinue a product for many reasons, including the fact that the materials used for manufacturing the product are no longer available or that less expensive materials have become available to manufacture a new product. Energy efficiency standards become more stringent each year, and newer products must meet these standards. The decision to discontinue a product is made at the corporate level, and regrettably, we are not privy to those decisions. ^ Chris
