“I’ve seen conflicting answers re: cable & antenna connections. Is this is an internet only set? Would like to add an aerial when away from civilization, is this possible? In not, what are the inputs for? Any problem playing movies from ipad w/HDMI cable?”

Not sure why there are any conflicting answers about whether the LG 27" Class LED Full HD Smart TV with webOS, Model # 27LQ625S-PU has a connection for cable or for an antenna. It is an FCC mandate that any TV entering the U.S. or manufactured in the U.S. since March 1, 2007, regardless of screen size, must include a built-in ATSC tuner that allows for the reception of OTA (Over-the-Air) Television Broadcasts from TV Stations in the U.S. There is an F-Type, 75-Ohm Coaxial Connector on the back of the TV that is labeled "Antenna/Cable In" that you can connect an indoor or outdoor antenna to...^Ivan
