“Has anyone noticed that Best Buy's website and LG's website say Freesync is only available over DisplayPort, but the manual for this monitor shows Freesync is available through the DisplayPort and HDMI ports. Has anyone tested Freesync through HDMI?”

From the LG website freesync is only available with Display Port connection. As I do not own an AMD GPU I can not test this feature of the monitor.
