not sure... but it cannot be much... use very little soap... this thing is wonderful and works great. Perfect for that colored shirt you might worry about fading on other things, etc. or just a small load period. I washed two pairs of knit shorts and a knit shirt in one load that were DIRTY... and it worked perfectly to get all pieces completely clean.
