Q: QuestionThe refrigerator was delivered yesterday. When plugged in, the light is on but it doesn’t appear to be cooling. It’s been about 12 hours and my groceries are warm and ice is melted. I set it up to max cooling. Is there another switch to turn it on?
Asked by NelliB.
- A:Answer Hi, there. Thanks for reaching out about your LG Refrigerator (LTCS20020S) model. It’s great that the light is on—this means the unit is receiving power. Since it’s been about 12 hours and cooling hasn’t kicked in, let’s try a quick step to help get things going. We suggest doing a power reset: just unplug the refrigerator for 2 minutes, then plug it back in. This can help restart the compressor and cooling system. Also, double-check that the temperature control dial inside the fridge is set to the coldest setting and that the doors are fully closed to allow for proper airflow. Q: QuestionFrig and freezer not cooling properly. What can I look for to resolve this issue?
Asked by Jayd.
- A:Answer Have you cleaned the condenser coil at the bottom in the back of the ENERGY STAR® Qualified LG 20.2 Cu. Ft. Top-Freezer Refrigerator - Stainless steel, Model # LTCS20020S? A dirty condenser coil in a refrigerator can affect cooling. It can lead to increased energy bills, poor cooling performance, overheating of the fridge exterior, frequent or longer running cycles, and unusual noises. Dirty coils reduce the refrigerator's ability to transfer heat from the inside to the outside, resulting in higher internal temperatures and lower cooling efficiency. The dirt that collects on the coils causes the condenser to retain heat, making the compressor work harder...^Ivan.

Q: QuestionMy unit is 2 years old. Suddenly it is making a rattling sound, like it's a motorcycle about to take off. What should I do?
Asked by MB.
- A:Answer Hi there! Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We understand your inquiry about the rattling sound from your LG LTCS20020S refrigerator. Based on your description, it's possible that this noise is due to normal operation, as some common refrigerator sounds can resemble a motorcycle starting up. However, if the sound has become louder than usual, we’d like to help you troubleshoot. Here are a few things you can try: Check for Obstructions: Ensure there’s nothing blocking the condenser coils or vents at the back of the fridge. Sometimes, objects inside the fridge or around the area can cause vibrations. Level the Fridge: An uneven surface can sometimes cause the fridge to vibrate more than usual. You may want to adjust the fridge's legs to make sure it is level. Examine the Fan: The fan blades inside the fridge or freezer could also be a source of noise if they’re obstructed by ice buildup or other debris. Q: QuestionI just had my LG 20020S refrigerator delivered today and I’m looking for the water inlet hook up on the back of the refrigerator for the ice maker I have ordered. Is there one and if not how do I go about putting in a water line to the ice maker?
Asked by Geebee.
- A:Answer Hi there. The LG LTCS20020S Top Freezer Refrigerator does not come with a pre-installed water inlet hookup for the ice maker. However, if you have ordered the optional ice maker, you will need to connect a water line to the refrigerator manually. To do this based on the Owner's manual page 22, please ensure you have a 1/4-inch copper or PEX water line, a shutoff valve, and the necessary compression fittings. The water connection port is located at the back of the refrigerator. Before installation, flush the water line to remove any debris, and securely connect it to the refrigerator's water inlet valve. Owner's manual: https://www.lg.com/us/support/product/lg-LTCS20020S.ASTQEUR For step-by-step installation, refer to the Owner’s Manual page 22 or consult a licensed plumber. Q: QuestionMy new LG fridge has been installed for just under 24 hours and the inner parts keep "gurgling." The noise ends when I open the door and the compressor kicks on but then the noise returns as soon as the compressor kicks off. Is there a fix?
Asked by Bazwell.
- A:Answer Hi there, Bazwell. Thank you for sharing your experience with us regarding your LG LTCS20020S Top Freezer Refrigerator. The "gurgling" noise you’re hearing is likely the refrigerant flow inside the refrigerator, which is completely normal. Refrigerators, including LG models, often make this sound as the refrigerant circulates through the system. The noise typically occurs when the compressor cycles on and off. It’s common to hear this gurgling sound when the compressor is off, as the refrigerant moves through the system, and it usually quiets down once the compressor activates. If the noise is consistent and loud, we recommend checking if the refrigerator is level and stable, as improper leveling can sometimes amplify noises. You can adjust the feet of the unit to ensure it's balanced. Additionally, ensure there’s enough space around the refrigerator for air circulation. - A:Answer Hi there, Thank you for reaching out! We understand that you're concerned about the start date for the warranty on your LG LTCS20020S Top Freezer Refrigerator due to the delay in delivery.
