How wide do the doors have to open in order for the drawers to open? My kitchen wall is only about three inches from the right side of my refrigerator. Will this give me enough clearance for the drawers to open?

The drawers will open. The only disadvantage is that the door won't swing out as it is designed to do.

Yes because it sticks out past the cabinets, as it is deeper than the cabinet depth.

That would be kind of close given the thickness of the door and the handle, I think the handle would be hitting your wall before the door was open.
