You can connect a cable set-top box in one of two ways to the LG 32 inch Class 720p Smart HD TV (31.5'' Diag), Model # 32LM570BPUA. There is an F-Type, 75-Ohm, Coaxial connector in the back of the TV labeled "Antenna/Cable In" that you can connect your cable set-top box to if it doesn't have an HDMI Out. If your cable set-top box has an HDMI Out, you can connect it to any of the HDMI ports on the TV. The TV has preinstalled apps and you can download and install additional compatible apps on the TV from the LG Content Store (App Store) which can be launched from the TV's home screen. There is no cable app on the TV. Your cable set-top box may have its own preinstalled apps or widgets which you can also use with the TV or you can use the preinstalled apps or any additional apps ypu install on the TV directly from the TV. You need internet access to stream from apps. The TV has Wi-Fi built-in (Wi-Fi Certified 802.11ac) or you can use the Ethernet port to connect to your router...^IFV

There is a cable app offered from LG but it is not the best nor would I use it if you have a box that offers a hardline from the box to the television. The primary uses for the smart features offered on the tv is to stream applications like Netflix, HBO Max, etc...
