- Answer Yes the LG 8000BTU air conditioner will fit a standard sized thru wall sleeve. I purchased 2 of these air conditioners in July. They are energy efficient, quiet and do a terrific job in cooling the entire living level of our home. They come with complete insulation. Well worth the value.

- Answer You need the sleeve, window units are different. They have slats to fill the side gaps. Wall units do not.

QuestionWhat should the rough framed opening be? I keep reading about a sleeve, what is that and why do I need it? We have a regular window unit but no sleeve. Thank you

- Answer The sleeve is used for mounting the unit through a wall not a window. Simply the sleeve gets screwed to the beams in the wall opening and the ac unit sits in the sleeve. Helps make it sturdy. It is sold separately though.

QuestionI would like to replace a Friedrich AC model SQ06N10B that is installed thru the wall and would like to get the LG model LT0816CER. Would the LG model fit in the same sleeve or is a new one required. Also, how are the size requirements.
