FreeSync is AMD's technology where the refresh rate of the monitor is kept variable in order to prevent screen tearing. It is the same function as V-sync however this method is lower latency and allows for the usage of higher framerates.

The freesync technology used in this monitor synchronizes the refresh rate between the GPU and display to eliminate image tears and choppiness. ^CP
