Can it only be ventless or can you add a vent? null

You cannon add a vent unless you tried taping one onto it. It does not make the room hot. It recirculates the heat to dry the clothes so heat coming out of it is minimal.

I think it can only be ventless- to be sure I would ask an associate at the store
